Delete Your Recap Account
You can delete your Recap account at any time — from inside the app, on this website, or by email if you can no longer log in. You don't need the app installed to request deletion.
What Gets Deleted
Deleting your account is permanent and immediate. It removes:
- Your account itself — the email address and display name you signed up with.
- Your genre preferences and account settings.
- Your recap history (which shows and episodes you generated recaps for).
- Your saved shows.
- Your notification preferences.
- Registered device push tokens (so no further notifications can be sent).
One exception: feedback you sent through the feedback form isn't linked to your account, so it isn't removed automatically — but we'll delete it on request (see below).
Option 1 — Delete It Yourself
If you can log in, deletion takes about ten seconds:
- Log in to your account (works in the app or on this website).
- Open Profile and scroll to the Danger Zone.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
Option 2 — Can't Log In?
Email hello@recapstory.com from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We may ask a follow-up question to verify the account is yours before deleting. This works even if you've already uninstalled the app.
Feedback You've Sent
Feedback submissions (including any name or email you typed into the form) can also be deleted on request — just mention it in the same email.
